East Islip High School’s theater students brought a high-stakes court drama to the stage with performances of “12 Angry Jurors” on Nov. 1 and 2, directed by Bethany Affelt. The superlative cast included Juliana Banville as the Foreman; Wyatt Casdia as the Guard; and Venti Ammenwerth, Amanda Bolen, Kylen Curry, Tyler Hilms, Ethan Jensen, Keith Klein, Paige Mathers, Kerry-Ann Montout, Savannah Murray, Anderson Ross and Lauren Winiarski as the Jurors.

“This year, Mrs. Affelt envisioned an audience-focused experience that brought our community on the stage with our theater arts scholars for a black box theater,” Director of Art and Music Dr. Rob Wottawa said. “The performances were at a professional level and our audience was moved during this serious drama. This level of professionalism is directly related to our supportive teachers and their leadership.”

“Congratulations to Mrs. Affelt and the entire cast of ‘12 Angry Jurors’ for an incredible performance,” Superintendent Paul Manzo said. “Their hard work, dedication and talent truly shined on stage. We are so proud of each and every one of them for bringing this powerful story to life. Bravo to our amazing director and the talented students who made it happen.”
