Incoming sixth graders happily got acclimated to their new educational environment during East Islip Middle School's sixth-grade orientation on Aug. 27. The event kicked off with an informational presentation in the auditorium, where the students were welcomed by Principal Tara Scully and Assistant Principal Nicholas Spiegler and learned about their new school. They then met guidance counselors and received their schedules before touring the halls.
“We were thrilled to welcome our sixth graders to the middle school today,” Principal Tara Scully said. “From learning their way around the building, to conquering the challenge of opening their lockers, their enthusiasm and excitement shone through. Our faculty and staff can’t wait for a wonderful year ahead.”
