Federal Judge and Attorney Visit East Islip HS for Law Day Program

In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, East Islip High School participated in Justice for All’s Law Day, with United States District Court Judge Sanket Bulsara of the Eastern District of New York and attorney Alexander Eleftherakis visiting the school’s auditorum on May 15. 

During the 40-minute presentation, the judge and litigator met with students to discuss the work and enduring importance of the federal judiciary, with a particular focus on the principle of judicial independence established in the Declaration of Independence.

Judge Bulsara described the naturalization process, quizzed students on how many amendments the Constitution has and offered to provide them with a tour of Alfonse M. D'Amato United States Courthouse in nearby Central Islip, which he noted is the third-largest courthouse in the United States.
