Guided by art teachers Heather Toomey and Dan Figliozzi, East Islip High School recently continued its annual tradition of participating in The Memory Project. This year 45 National Art Honor Society students volunteered to receive portraits of children from Malawi to draw. The Memory Project provides children and teens living in rural and impoverished areas of the world a chance to receive personalized artwork. 

“Mr. Figliozzi and I are so proud of the students who participated this year, and we had our biggest turnout yet,” Toomey said. “It is always exciting and rewarding to make an artistic impact on a global level through our yearly tradition of participating in The Memory Project.”
