Four East Islip High School softball players were recently honored with prestigious All-Long Island and All-State recognition. Junior first baseman Kayla Varga was named to the first team All-Long Island First Team as well as the All-State Second Team, sophomore shortstop Lexi Kneisel was named to the All-Long Island Second Team, sophomore second baseman Marisa Renganeschi was named to the All-State Fifth Team and freshman pitcher Cate Ropiak was named to the All-Long Island Second Team and All-State First Team.

“I am extremely proud of these four for being honored with these big-time awards,” coach Jason McGowan said. “Each of them distinguished herself as one of the best all-around players, not only on Long Island, but in New York State.”
