Students in Danielle Chiappetta’s class at John F. Kennedy Elementary School recently welcomed a special guest, Teresa Ryan of Taylor’s Hope Foundation, a local nonprofit founded by Taylor Ryan and her family to raise awareness of histiocytosis, a rare form of cancer, and to support children and families facing serious illness. The visit followed the class’s holiday toy drive, organized through its Class Council, with all donated toys given to the foundation. The cause holds special meaning for the class and teacher, as Chiappetta taught Taylor during her elementary years, as well as her sister, Sami. Inspired by the Ryan family’s continued commitment to giving back, students chose Taylor’s Hope as the recipient of their holiday donations. During the visit, Ryan explained the mission of the foundation and thanked the JFK students for their generosity, gifting each student with a Taylor’s Hope T-shirt and bracelet.
