The fourth and fifth grade Student Councils at East Islip’s John F. Kennedy Elementary School worked together to collect food for the Suffolk County Women’s Alliance to End Food Insecurity’s Thanksgiving food distribution event. Each grade was assigned a specific food item to bring in and competed to see which could contribute the most. Thanks to the students’ efforts, JFK helped SCWATEFI provide food to over 5,000 people in need this Thanksgiving. Their hard work made a significant impact, helping to alleviate hunger in the community.
