For the fourth year in a row, the dedicated staff of Momentum at South Bay for Rehabilitation and Nursing sponsored an initiative to donate backpacks and school supplies to the East Islip School District’s students. Working with Momentum’s Joseph Aplustille and Barbara Silhan, senior citizens from the community stuffed 125 backpacks with supplies on August 7, readying them for delivery in September.
“On behalf of the district, the Board of Education and our community, we sincerely thank Momentum for their generous donation of backpacks for families in need,” Superintendent Paul Manzo said. “We’re also grateful to the dedicated volunteers who assembled the supplies, as their kindness truly shows that it takes a village. This support helps ensure every student is ready for a successful school year, and it is deeply appreciated.”
