The East Islip School District’s newest educators came together Aug. 26 for the start of a two-day New Teacher Workshop, an introduction to the people, programs and priorities that will support them throughout the school year. Led by Wendy Frees and Jodie Macher, the workshop highlighted instructional initiatives, curriculum resources and the support available across the district.

On the second day, the group of 28 teachers took their orientation beyond the meeting room, boarding a school bus for a tour of the district they will now call their professional home.

“A huge welcome to our new team of incredible educators,” Frees said. “We are so thrilled to have your energy, passion and fresh perspectives in our school community. Here’s to an amazing year ahead!”
