The varsity football team started the season on an exciting note with a come-from-behind 22-10 victory at home on Sept. 12 against Bellport's Clippers. Jake Simmons put up 225 rushing yards while scoring two touchdowns, Andrew Arena caught a touchdown pass from quarterback AJ Ierardi, who completed nine of 14 passes for 74 yards. On defense, Evan Gordon tallied three tackles for loss while PJ Gannon intercepted Bellport on their final drive.

"Congrats to our team on a great season opener," Superintendent Paul Manzo said. "Their hard work and determination paid off. A big shoutout also to our amazing cheerleaders for bringing the energy and keeping the sideline alive with spirit and support."
