First and second grade artists at Timber Point Elementary School recently took a trip to the school’s courtyard to practice their observational drawing skills. They learned how artists use the power of observation to capture even the smallest of details from their subjects in their artwork. Guided by teacher Amanda Lastella, the students then put this skill to the test, picking parts of the courtyard such as statues, trees, flowers or benches to incorporate into their own observational artwork.
