Talented Timber Point students recently had the opportunity to create and send artwork to a national art exhibition through the National Art Education Association. The exhibition, titled “The Next Hundred Years: Imagining the Future of Fort Pulaski,” tasked students with learning more about Georgia’s 19th century-era Fort Pulaski, observing what it looks like today and reimagining how it might look a hundred years from now. Some students thought about how the fort might break down, how the animals around the fort’s island might appear or how wildlife might soon take it over. The exhibition will be displayed inside of Fort Pulaski for the duration of the summer.
“We are beyond proud of the hard work and dedication that our young artists demonstrated the past few months while they worked on their artwork,” teacher Amanda Lastella said.
