Timber Point Elementary School artists have begun discussing ways that artists build communities to support one another and their artistic journeys. One way artists build a community is through the making and gifting of Artist Trading Cards; these cards are created and left in public spaces like art stores and libraries, where they can be exchanged for other artists’ work. Timber Point now has its own official Artist Trading Card board in the art studio, where students can exchange small works of art with one another.

“Our young artists have been excitedly creating new work for the board, showing off their unique styles while learning more about those of other artists from around the school,” teacher Amanda Lastella said.
