East Islip’s youngest patriots recently donned their red, white and blue and waved their flags proudly as they marched, jogged, skipped and galloped in Timber Point’s annual flag parade, held during physical education classes in honor of 9/11. The students learned many facts about the American flag, and teachers Alec Blieberg and Diane Wahrenburg discussed what it means to be a patriotic person and spoke about showing gratitude to first responders who risk their lives to help others.

“The smiles on our students' faces and their patriotic clothes showed their enthusiasm for this special day,” Wahrenburg said.
