Welcome Back Letter
August 2024
Dear East Islip Families,
As we prepare for the 2024-2025 academic year, I want to emphasize that safety remains our top priority. Our dedicated staff have worked diligently to ensure that our buildings are ready to provide all students with a safe, clean, and supportive learning environment.
Over the summer, we have made several enhancements to our buildings and grounds to further strengthen safety and security. We have installed ID card swipe entries at both the middle school and high school to control access within our buildings. Additionally, we have added emergency blue lights outside of each building to signal a lockout or lockdown situation, helping visitors to know when to stay away. In our parking lots at Timber Point Elementary School, East Islip High School, and the District Office (formerly the ECC) we have installed speed bumps to promote safer driving. All these upgrades are part of our ongoing effort to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community.
This important work could not have been accomplished without the support of our amazing Board of Education and you – the community we serve. Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gifts, your children. Please know that they will always be our top priority.
Our teachers and administrators are eager to welcome your children back on Thursday, September 5th and begin a new journey filled with opportunities to grow, learn, and succeed. I hope you all enjoyed a relaxing summer and are ready for an exciting year of learning and exploration. Best wishes for a great start and a fantastic academic year ahead.
Sincerely,
Paul E. Manzo
Superintendent of Schools
